Environmentally Friendly Ways To Reduce Printer Cost

Printers and ink cartridges are an important part of our life. Unfortunately, printing costs have been on the rise for a number of years, we here at Cash for Cartridges have come up with 4 sure ways to reduce this in an environmentally friendly way.

Printer Settings - One of the simplest ways to reduce your ink consumption is to change your printer settings on your computer. If the document you are printing is simply black text, there is no need to use all of the colours to print it. Go into Printer Properties and select 'black ink only', if you don't need the text to be high quality you can also change the image quality to 'draft' to save even more ink.

Recycle Empty Cartridges - Every year over 70 million ink cartridges are dumped. You can make a dent in this ridiculous amount by sending your empty ink cartridges into Cash for Cartridges. It reduces the cost of your ink by paying you a certain amount for your old cartridges, which you can use to buy a replacement.

Only Print What You Need - One of the most important things you can do to prevent excess waste and save money is to simply not print things you don't actually need. Try reading emails on your screen instead of printing them out, and filling in forms online rather than printing them out and completing them by hand. This will not only save you ink, but paper costs too!

Print Double-sided - Lots of printers offer automatic two-sided printing, which is an easy way to save money on paper (it halves the cost funnily enough!). If your printer doesn't have duplex capability; try simply printing one page, flipping the paper and re-inserting it into the printer to print on the opposite side.
