Sustainable Printing Company Showcases Advantages Of Green Ink Practices

A sustainable printing company has shown the value of green printing practices such as recycling ink cartridges after winning a top award at a New Zealand bash.

Carbon-neutral printing firm Soar was awarded most sustainable mid-sized company at the Sustainable 60 Awards after it managed to slash $160,000 worth of energy, landfill and carbon emissions from it costs.

PricewaterhouseCoopers partner and judge, Julia Hoare, said: ''This year's finalists recognise that to be in business for the long haul, business as usual is not an option,''

A consultancy firm also won a similar prize but judges had praise for all contestants.

New Zealand-based magazine Unlimited quotes the judges as saying: "How they have integrated it across the business should be adopted and admired as best practice in New Zealand."

The awards were first developed by Fairfax Media Business Group and PricewaterhouseCoopers in order to recognise best practice in business sustainability.
