Teenager Receives Award for Recycling Ink Cartridges for Charity
|
Seventeen year-old Krysta Moulton of Athens was among one hundred top youth volunteers in the country who were recognized in Washington USA during the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards 2010. Krysta was named for her work towards raising money and awareness for the AIDS crisis in Africa, and received a $1000 award. In her eagerness to contribute something to AIDS charities, Krysta used her baking skills to make and sell treats, which she sells to teachers at a local school as well as during community events. Krysta also sells empty inkjet cartridges and old cell phones, which she collects from local schools and businesses, to recyclers. She has raised a total of $1300 so far. While Krysta’s primary cause was AIDS in Africa, her fund-raising efforts also contributed to saving the environment. You too can save the environment and do you bit for charity by selling your empty ink cartridges to Cash for Cartridges. Simply send in your empty ink cartridges and we'll either send the proceeds to charity, or send you a cheque once you have raised enough money. |
