What Ink Cartridges Can I Recycle ?

There are lots of ink cartridges that you can and can't recycle. Here are some pointers to get you onto that recycling trail and make you or your local charity some money.

  • Always the list that companies can recycle your ink cartridges that you are sending in. Unfortunately you can't recycle every cartridge such as brands including Epson, Kodak and Brother. Some companies charge for the removal of your ink cartridges and can affect your profit margins.
  • All ink cartridges recycling centres or online merchants recycle in some form. It's easy to set up an account and you don't have to give any bank details. Most companies will send you a cheque when you reach the desired amount that they pay out on.
  • Choose what you want to do with your cartridges wisely. If you don't recycle that many, then it would be wise to donate your cartridges to a charity, most websites and cartridge recycling centres do this, without setting up an account. If you recycle a lot sort your cartridges into cartridge order, it means your cartridges can get sorted quicker and therefore easier to update your account.
  • If your not sure how or what to recycle call up the recycling centre for help, they are the experts and will know what to recycle and what you can get for your cartridges, don't think you have to worry about these minor things on your own. Most issues and problems can be sorted quickly and efficiently.
  • Finally, the ink cartridge test; if your ink cartridge does not fit in the palm of your hand and contains the words LaserJet then it is a toner cartridge. Most companies don't recycle these and you can get charged a lot of money for sending in them in, which will affect your account. Always check if your not sure, but 9/10 companies and recycling centres don't recycle them.
